Young Living Essential Oils
The science of Aromatherapy and essential oils is as old as the beginning of time but is one that has been lost through the ages, and only in the last 50 years is it making its reentry into the modern world. The Bible has almost two hundred references to oils. Why did the Magi bring frankincense and myrrh as gifts to the Christ Child? Why was frankincense considered the holy anointing oil? Ancient records indicate that this was mankind's first medicine. Essential oils were used by Christ and biblical prophets as well as kings, priests, emperors, and pharaohs from different cultures and times, to promote youthfulness, beauty and protection from disease and plagues of their day.
Our Creator has given us the sun, the soil, the miracle of life and our inquiring minds. We have only just begun to discover the healing powers within the complex world of the plant kingdom. Science continues to validate the powerful use of essential oils.
The lifeblood of the plant is in the volatile liquid, or resin, that functions like blood in the body. When distilled, this life force is called the essential oil. It takes hundreds of pounds of plants to produce a small amount of oil. For instance, it takes 5,000 pounds of rose petals to produce one pound of rose oil. The effectiveness of the oil is many times greater than the dried or powdered plant. One drop may represent the life force of many plants depending on the type of plant and distillation process.
Organic Farms Young Living Essential Oils has farms in St. Maries, Idaho; in Whispering Springs near Mona, Utah; and a joint venture farm in Sedaron, France. Other farms will be added soon. The soil at their farms must be rich with nutrients and trace minerals and free from applied chemicals. They use no pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers: and all plants are grown organically according to Gary Young's rigorous standards.
Plants Seeds and plant starts are carefully selected and nurtured to produce the highest quality essential oils that contain the natural chemical properties so important to our health. Young Living oils are not produced for the commercial food or perfume industries.
Planting Planting takes place in the spring and fall just as the soil reaches the ideal temperature. Crews must work around the clock to meet the schedule the weather dictates. The put millions of plant starts in the ground to meet their annual production goals.
Harvest Fields must be harvested at precisely the right time. It is critical that plants be cut at the right time of day and when the plant is at the proper growth stage to produce the highest quality oil.
Distillation As soon as the plants are harvested, they are taken immediately to the Young Living Farm distilleries. Though costly, the low-pressure, low-temperature distillation process maximizes the quality and effectiveness of Young Living oils. Within the last century, most essential oils have been extracted for the lucrative perfume industry. These essential oils are often diluted and adulterated with chemicals to create highly potent fragrances and greater volume. However, they lack the complex natural chemical constituents that make the oils beneficial and safe for application.

NOTE: Essential oils are powerful tools that can be used for protection against disease-causing pathogens. In their book, "Bioterrorism: Secrets for Surviving the Coming Terrorist Germ Warfare Attacks on U.S. Cities", Duncan Long, internationally recognized security and survival expert and S. Spencer Jones, nationally-recognized health/science writer strongly recommend that you stock up on essential oils. They suggest Young Living oils because of their therapeutic grade purity specifically Lavender oil (which proved its effectiveness against deadly infectious microorganisms during the black plague of the 17th century), and the original essential oil formula called Thieves. |
